You must be over 18 to enter, and hold a formal practice-based qualification in the visual arts from a place of higher or further education (undergraduate or postgraduate level) within the UK. You must have completed your course between 1 April 2018 and the closing date for 2023 submissions (18 September 2023).

You are still eligible if you fulfil all other entry criteria and can make arrangements for your work to be exhibited in London if selected.

Eligible artists can submit up to two works.

Yes, please upload an image of your work. Images should be high resolution jpegs (300 dpi recommended) and no more than 1MB in size.

Images of two-dimensional work should exclude the frame.

For film/video/performance works please include a link to view or download your entry, rather than an image.

For three-dimensional work please either take an image against a plain background or provide a short video. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo or your own website, and a link provided via the entry form.

The entry system permits one image file or link per work. If you are entering a sculpture or installation which cannot be fully represented in one image, you may upload a composite image file to include additional angles, or submit a short video instead of an image.

No. Selection is made entirely by the online submission process.

No, works can be in any media.

No, there are no restrictions on the size of work, however we ask artists to highlight any particularly large or heavy works, giving an approximate weight if possible

Paintings, prints and works on paper should ideally be framed.

No, entry is free.

NB: selected finalists are responsible for their own framing, shipping and travel expenses relating to participation in the group exhibition.

Selected finalists will be invited to showcase their entries in a group exhibition at Cromwell Place in London, 22 – 26 November 2023. There will be an accompanying exhibition catalogue & private view.

Notification will be sent by email by Monday 9 October 2023.

If you are selected you will need to supply:

  • Up to 3 high resolution jpegs of you, ideally with your work or in your studio
  • If not already supplied through the entry process, a high resolution jpeg image of your work for the exhibition catalogue and associated prize promotion, e.g. a still image for film/digital/moving image works
  • Details of any display requirements for your work, e.g. AV equipment, plinths, and an indication of whether you can supply these
  • Any relevant installation instructions. For works with complex requirements please indicate whether you prefer to oversee installation
  • Image/photographer credit

You will need to deliver your work to the exhibition venue on Monday 20 November and collect unsold works in accordance with the schedule provided at the time of selection. We regret that we cannot provide storage outside of the appointed dates.
